Enjoy some cozy cabin vibes with the Bear Hug Bundle, including a lovingly-crafted quilt with matching wood burned clock and a table lamp featuring a hand-painted log base with a bears and trees scene. The quilt was created using the Bear Paw pattern, surrounding a beautiful bear-print center panel. Every Bear Paw block was cut and sewn by IR2 participants during an eight-week quilting class. The project represents more than 20 hours of work and approximately $150 in materials. Throughout the class, participants developed valuable sewing skills, including measuring accurately, safely using a rotary cutter, threading a sewing machine and bobbin, sewing straight seams, and squaring up quilt blocks to create a finished project they could be proud of. When participants weren't sewing, they explored wood-burning techniques to create the accompanying clock. Using wood-burning paste and a heat gun, they burned the design into the wood before learning to use a Dremel and drill to carve out the space for the clock mechanism. Participants also practiced sanding and painting techniques, gaining experience with a variety of tools while creating another beautiful, handcrafted piece.
